01Who I am

I’m Max Cheshire, a freelance photographer and videographer based in the UK. For the purposes of UK data protection law I am the controller of any personal information collected through this website. You can reach me at hello@maxcheshire.co.uk or on 07598 985 749.

02What I collect

Only what you choose to send me:

• Details submitted through the contact form — your name, email address, phone number, the type of work you need, and your message;
• Anything you send when you email, call, DM or message me directly, including our correspondence;
• Practical details needed to plan and deliver a shoot, such as locations, dates and contacts on the day.

I don’t collect special category (sensitive) data through this site, and it isn’t aimed at children.

03Why I use it

To reply to enquiries, quote for work, plan and carry out shoots, deliver finished images and video, invoice, and keep sensible business records. The lawful bases are: taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing a contract with you, and my legitimate interest in running the business and responding to people who get in touch.

04Photographs and footage

Images and video I create are my copyright unless we agree otherwise in writing. Where a shoot involves identifiable people, usage is agreed with the commissioning client and, where needed, the individuals concerned. If you appear in an image on this site and would like it removed, contact me and I’ll deal with it promptly.

05Who else sees your data

I don’t sell your information. It’s shared only with the services that help me run the site and communicate with you — my website host and my email provider — and where the law requires it.

06How long I keep it

Enquiries are kept while I deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Where work goes ahead, records are kept as long as needed for tax, accounting and licensing purposes. You can ask me to delete your details sooner at any time.

07Cookies

This site uses essential cookies only — the ones needed to make pages load and work properly. There is currently no advertising or tracking. If analytics is added in future, this notice will be updated first.

08Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask me for a copy of your information, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how I use it. Just get in touch using the details above. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

09Changes

Any updates to this notice will be published on this page with a revised date.
